There's only two songs in me and I just wrote the third
Don't know where I got the inspiration or how I wrote the words
Spent my whole life just digging up my music's shallow grave
For the two songs in me and the third one I just made
-They Might Be Giants-
City of Heroes will always hold a special place in my heart. A game that actually lets you make your own hero, fly around, and beat the crap out of baddies! The best character creation I've ever seen and certainly one of the best MMOs I've played to date. The comic in question was actually conceptually created back when the game first came out. When me and Reese were in our mid teens and we actually came across a level 20 boss in a level 15 or so mission. We actually ended up killing him for the fact we were both blasters and there was a circular area we could kite him in. If not for the lack of a crafting system I might still be playing it hardcore today, but alas I only return on occasion to snag a screen shot or hook up with friends.
Due to lack of sleep and heavy school work I've had the great honor of being sick! Oh ya, gotta love it! I'm getting better and slowly getting back to this meaningless existence I call my life.

City of Heros was a great game for all of the reasons stated above and more. I loved the fact that every player you saw was truly unique. There wasn't any issue of everyone looking the exact same (take notes Blizzard). It was tons of fun, but those times are over. CoH was so very easy to get into and have a blast, but the lack of crafting or sense of character growth (no equipment) really crippled the game in the long run. I did however love the fact that you could manuver your enemy. Nothing is better than being able to use a wind gust to blow five guys off of a roof or smashing a guy across the room and into a wall. Hell, now I feel like reinstalling and giving it another whirl. Maybe I'll wait until City of Villians comes out before I revisit that old flame.
What really makes these games shine however is playing with your friends. The only reason I stick with these games is because I have friends to group with when I play. Then we do crazy stuff in game that is just to hard to talk strangers into doing. Such as the time Vance, George and myself did Sunken Temple just to finish off the quests. Tons of fun and not normally possible to three man that, but friends are willing to do a little more (read: die more) with you for the sake of fun.
