Yup, the mechs aren't gone. In fact they have expanded the canvas in which I can strew a joke.

I find I use Reese's character to offer the intellectual side of a a debate. Not that I'm dumb, just, my character is. If that's comprehensible.

I do however remember in grade school looking through a little picture book as my science teacher told the class "One day we will live on Mars" and most sci-fi accepts it as an inevitability. I figure we have two ways to go as the human race... Into space for further population or an apocalyptic world like Fallout.
