I think I've talked about it several times over the years but the Bob and Jim names have been around forever. I had originally planned on using our gaming pseudonym but Reese is fiercely protective of his in case "this comic thing ever becomes popular" he doesn't want everyone else taking it.

Bob and Jim, originally came from our lack of imagination while coming up with a Diablo 2 server name for battlenet. We would use bobjim as the name and jimbob as the password, or vice verse. It is, however, important to note that we abandoned this name/password near a decade ago, so it's futile to go looking for us now. But, we continued these names into City of Heroes where we created a guild name Bob Jim Inc. which had 2 members that really didn't do anything.

The last time I talked about character names was during the Leap Arc but 500+ comics in isn't the time to change names. The first few comics of a new strip is.

Also, is is not just Bob and Jim, the characters have full grandiose names, and I'll let you know what those are when Reese figures his out.
