Oh Penny Arcade, we know thee well.
I was less apprehensive of mimicking Gabe's style. He kind of has a minimalist cartoon style that falls in line with my own.
There's a little bit of reasoning to explain here. First off, for almost the first time since we've been doing this site, Reese is the soul conceiver of the comic. I had some half assed ideas of what we would be doing at Gabe and Tycho's apartment and I called Reese for ideas. He called back with pretty much this idea and I ran with it.
The reason I have them welcoming us into their home is this.
I've actually had the pleasure of meeting Gabe and Tycho on several occasions and they are two of the coolest guys I've met. So it makes at least some sort of sense that they would welcome us, if nothing else then to ridicule and prank us.
I gave Reese a call last night in attempts to find out who actually has the watch. I searched for what must have been hours (minutes) to find who actually has the watch, finding nothing. I gave up and just gave it to Tycho. After a full night of drawing the comic, everything's done and I'm about to send Reese, all the stuff to update and I see an e-mail saying this.
"Gabe has the watch, last seen in this comic." With a link to the comic.
So back I went into the .psd to fix the congruity. I certainly don't want to piss off all of the PA fans that follow that religiously.
Also... I am amazed there are still people who don't know about Penny Arcade yet. I go to school with a bunch of artist and gamers... artists AND gamers... all lumped together, and when I tell some of my friends there I'm headed up to Washington to go to PAX, and they say "Never heard of it" I cringe a little. But when I say it's the Penny Arcade expo, put on by Penny Arcade, and they say "What's that?" I just wanna flog them with a two by four. Penny Arcade is an infallible truth now... Learn it, live it, love it.

I take great pride in actually coming up with a comic idea instead of just being the inspiration for one of Vance's ideas. It's a new thing and I probably won't be able to repeat it. We'll see...
In other news, I went and saw Riverdance last night. It was a pretty good show all in all. I knew it was popular, but I'd never seen a form of payment quite like this outside of the movies...
Luckily, my girlfriend was able to cover that payment for me.
