The Wii finally came out yesterday and Reese and I spent the entire night camped out in front of a Best Buy to make sure we got one. In all honesty we probably really didn't need to, the store we were at got about 88 in and we were number 14 and 15 in line, and there were only a few people turned away at the very end. This whole supplying the demand and not pissing off your fan base is a refreshing thing. But I made a conscious decision knowing this, I wasn't there to be the first person to get a Wii, I was there to hang out and socialize with all the people with the same enthusiasm as me. And boy howdy was it ever fun.
I had many ideas come during the night, and this one is just the one that made it. I had planned on a 3 panel strip with 3 different Ideas in it, but as a sketched the other two out they just didn't have the same umph as this one did. One was making fun of all the people who drove by in the middle of the night with their already purchased Wii's. "I already have my Wii! Wanna buy it?" seriously... The other was more the fact that is was more like a party then waiting in line. Both good concepts but I couldn't get um to work how I wanted them to, so they were scraped for now.
This isn't the first time we've done a comic on the Wii, and I can certainly tell you it will not be the last. I broke it out and started playing Zelda immediately, and then got some Redsteel in before passing out from exhaustion.
A special shout out, We spent most of the night hanging out with Robin Ericson from The Wotch , and its nice to meet more local web comics. If any of web comic out there you are Phoenix based let us know. We'd be more then happy to help spread the word.

I'm happy that I got my Wii, but not so happy that I appear to now be sick. I had a sore throat on Saturday and I think the night out in the relative cold (we are in Phoenix) was enough to push me over the edge. No biggie though, I consider it worth it. Also, my girlfriend has been taking good care of me so I have no complaints.
