So my dirty little secret is out... I bet your respect for me as a gamer has been dashed, and you'll never look at me the same way again... Well I guess there's nothing lost, since you didn't have any respect for me in the first place and you can't actually see me!

It's not like I've never played a Zelda game, just not the very first one. As a child I was severely hindered in my gaming pursuits by my parents. So I never had all those lovely 8 bit melodies scorched into my brain. I've since caught up on a significant amount of old school games, but there's no way to make up for an entire misspent youth. This is, however, where Reese comes into play; he is our true geek cred here at VR Comic.

As we all know, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, which Vance named the comic after, was actually the third game in the series. It is also one of my favorite games of all time. But we will forgive Vance for this since he had such a horrible time sans video games as a youth.

For everyone who loved the original Zelda or for those of which who have never played it before, you can get your fix with the Wii Virtual Console. Not only does it have the original Zelda, this week they just released A Link to the Past as well. Of course, if you are Vance, you do not have a wireless router and cannot access the internet on your Wii.

For those keeping count, that is two strikes against Vance. One for not ever playing the original Zelda (shame!) and then two for not setting up access for his Wii to play the original Zelda (and many other classic games).

Just for clarification, I did know Link to the Past was not the first Zelda game. My original title for the comic was "Back to Our (His) Roots". So it was intentional for the Zelda reference, and not a my folly of gamer knowledge.

Just needed to clear that up for my own minds sake...
